M.R. Mold Hosts Second Annual iWarriors Golf Outing

 

iWarriors West Coast Outing Raises $17,500

 

The iWarriors 2024 Annual West Coast Golf Outing organized by M.R. Mold & Engineering was held on February 9^th, 2024, following the Plastec West / MD&M exhibition in Anaheim.  The event was a success, held at the Navy Golf Coast at Seal Beach, raised $17,500 to support wounded combat veterans.

“Everyone thought coming to sunny California was the way to golf in February, but Mother Nature had other thoughts,” said Rick Finnie, M.R. Mold’s president. “The atmospheric river rain system the week before put the event in jeopardy, but the committee reconfigured the activities and the event was able to be held, and a good time was had by all!”

iWarriors is a registered 501C-3 entity organized by Progressive Components, and funds are raised throughout the year to provide wounded vets with a personally engraved iPad that is preloaded with neural exercise apps for those suffering from PTSD, as well as links to V.A. resources to assist in communication, scheduling, and counseling. The iWarriors initiative is assisted by Moldmaking Technology Magazine, the American Mold Builders Association, as well as numerous companies within the injection mold industry.

The event was made even more meaningful with a vet onsite to receive his tablet, and he shared his experience overseas that qualified him for 2 purple hearts, described how this gift will be extremely beneficial, and thanked all of the organizers, participants, and sponsors.

This was the 2^nd annual West Coat event, and joins an annual golf outing organized each September in northern Illinois by Alliance Specialties and Laser Sales, as well as an outing each October in South Carolina hosted by United Tool & Mold.
